When it comes to getting someplace better in your life, knowing the right people is always more important than anything else. It doesn’t matter your skills, your personality, or your degree, without connections it is much tougher to get to where you want to go.
Connections are pathways. Pathways are those ways that deliver you to the rest of the world, to your authentic destination – the place that you really want to get to.
If you’re like many in the networking world, you belong to various groups that can possibly help make connections for you. You connect to one, then another and as you keep making connections, you hope that you are discovering new paths.
We all know it when we learn of someone who has connections. And when we learn of that one, we too want to lean in on that resource, introduce ourselves, ask the favor and hope that doors open.
What if you knew the one that has the most connection, and not just loose connection, he is intimately involved in their decisions, he is the one who influences their decisions, he knows how they are going to act, because in fact He made them, He directs each and every step and He decides what happens and what doesn’t happen in their life. Would you want to be connected to that resource?
Getting to know God is the ultimate in making a connection. He has absolute power; He has absolute control and influence. He knows the thoughts and the desires of those who can open doors and opportunities in your own life. So wouldn’t that make sense to get to know God and make yourself open to His influence in your life?
The trick is simple. Spend sincere time with Him. It doesn’t have to be hours and hours, but the time that you do spend needs to color the rest of your day as you continue to search for answers, solutions, and opportunities. If you draw close to Him just for a resource, it won’t work. God isn’t used. God wants you to draw close to Him so that He can draw closer to you. It’s a connection that is a personal connection where love is shown, favor is granted, wisdom is given and the pathway to a life that you wanted all along is revealed.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
Therefore, I exhort you, All things whatever you pray for and ask, have faith that you have taken hold, and it shall be for you. Mark 11:24
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. John 15:7
